Emma McDonald reappointed Diocesan Financial Administrator for Broken Bay

Bishop Anthony Randazzo has appointed Emma McDonald for a second five-year term as Diocesan Financial Administrator for the Diocese of Broken Bay, commencing 8 March 2021.

“The canonical role of Diocesan Financial Administrator is one of the most important in assistance to me in my governance as Bishop and in the life of the Diocese entrusted to my care,” said Bishop Anthony.

“For the past five years we have been singularly blessed with Ms Emma McDonald in this position. Emma has brought undoubted energy and professionalism to her appointment and worked tirelessly for the well-being of our Diocese, its parish communities, and its agencies. We are indebted to her for the many achievements that have permeated this period all of which have ensured that our Diocese has the best financial and organisational structure possible.”

The Diocesan Financial Administrator is one of great responsibility encompassing the Office for Stewardship and the Diocesan Finance Council, and working closely with the College of Consultors, with all the administrative, civil and canon law requirements considered. The primary purpose of good administration and collaboration in the management of the Diocese is to serve well the people of God and to ensure that the patrimony of the Church is preserved and put to purposes which fulfil the mandate of the Gospel. 

On 3 March 2021, Emma renewed her Profession of Faith and Oath of Office during a Mass celebrated by Bishop Anthony at the Caroline Chisholm Centre with staff of the Chancery.

Emma was first appointed to the position of Diocesan Financial Administrator on 7 March 2016 by the third Bishop of Broken Bay, Peter A Comensoli.
