On Friday 19th March, 2021, Pope Francis launched the year “Amoris Laetitia Family” which will conclude on 26th June, 2022, on the occasion of the X World Meeting of Families in Rome. Celebrating five years since the publication of the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia, the Pope has called for the upcoming year to be dedicated to giving thanks once more for the beauty and joy of love in the family, and to renew our focus on pastoral care of families. Recognising that we are living in a “profoundly changed time and culture”, the Pope has suggested there is a “need for a new outlook on the family”, one which protects its beauty and takes “compassionate care of its frailties and its wounds”[1]
As part of journeying together during this year as a Church, a series of 10 videos reflecting on various aspects of family life will be issued. The first of the videos can be found here:

The video is accompanied by a print resource to be used as an aid to small group or family discussion.
The Pope has also suggested ways the church can accompany families this year by developing 12 concrete pastoral proposals he has called “Walking with Families”.
