You are here:HomeNewsLatest News 25 June 2021 As you would be aware the NSW Government has today introduced further restrictions across Sydney in light of the recent outbreak of COVID. All existing restrictions about which I wrote on Wednesday remain. Now, four Local Government Authorities (LGA) have had to enter a period of ‘lockdown’ from midnight tonight to midnight Friday 2 July. This lockdown also affects those who have worked in those LGAs over the last 2 weeks. A number of churches in the Archdiocese of Sydney will have to close. Though the parishes and churches in our Diocese of Broken Bay can all remain open at this stage, a number of people of our parishes will be affected given that they may work in the centre of Sydney or one of the other LGAs affected. These parishioners, along with all those living and working in an LGA, are bound to isolate for the following week and therefore should not attend a parish this weekend. Bishop Anthony asks that all remain socially responsible at this time and encourages us to convey to our people the need to be so. For those so affected the Bishop Anthony has suspended Sunday Mass obligation for this weekend 26 & 27 June 2021. May we continue to ensure everyone is kept safe during this difficult time,
