Clergy Appointments for 2025

A number of clergy in the Diocese of Broken Bay have received new appointments for 2025, as the Diocese prepares to celebrate the 2025 Jubilee Year.

Fr Jose Philip OSH will leave his role as Parish Priest of Lower North Shore in early 2025 following his election as the Vicar General of the Society of the Oblates of the Sacred Heart.

Fr Vincent Trung, currently assistant priest for Lower North Shore, has been appointed Administrator of the Lower North Shore Parish from January 1. Fr Stephen Wayoyi AJ, currently assistant at Pennant Hills, will move to the parish on January 31 to serve as assistant priest. Fr Stephen will also serve as Director of Joseph House, Willoughby.

Fr Sam French, currently Diocesan Director for Vocations., will move to the Parish of Manly-Freshwater from January 31 and Fr Joey Frez will become the new Diocesan Director for Vocations. He will be resident at Carlingford and assist as the Parish of Epping-Carlingford where possible.

Fr Alex Peter MSFS will move from the Parish of Woy Woy to become the Administrator of the Parish of Wyoming, replacing Fr Peter deSouza who will move to Pennant Hills where he will serve as assistant priest and Chaplain at the San Hospital, Wahroonga.

Fr Vincent Lourduswamy MSFS will also move to Wyoming where he will be resident, while he serves as Chaplain at Gosford Hospital.

Fr Hien Vu, who has been serving at the Hornsby Cathedral Parish since his ordination last year, will move to Chatswood Parish to serve as an assistant priest.

Fr Joshi Naduppura, who has been assistant priest at The Entrance, will become assistant priest at the Parish of Warnervale. When Deacon Rosan Mathew is ordained in March, he will remain at The Entrance as an assistant priest.

Fr John Puliparambil has been appointed assistant priest at the Parish of Wahroonga. He will also be responsible for McQuoin Park’s Sunday Mass and assist with the Hornsby Hospital Chaplaincy.

Deacon Richard Houwing will move from Chatswood to the Parish of The Lakes.

All these appointments are effective from January 31.

Fr Anoop Davaisa MS will arrive in the Diocese in early 2025 and will be appointed assistant priest at the Hornsby Cathedral Parish.

When Kevin McGregor is ordained a permanent deacon in March, he will be appointed to the Hornsby Cathedral Parish.

Two seminarians will also be on Pastoral Placement within the Diocese. Matthew French will be on placement at the Parish of Epping-Carlingford, while Alfred Soliman, a new seminarian for the Diocese who has completed his studies, will be on placement at the Parish of Manly-Freshwater.
