Catechists Awards done differently in 2020

26 November 2020

This year, in the Diocese of Broken Bay, 60 catechists are receiving awards of recognition for faithful service from 5 to 45 years. Those years are an investment in the Kingdom of God and represent an offering of hard work and commitment from many of our devoted catechists.

In 2020, we were unable to gather together at the Cathedral with Bishop Anthony Randazzo to present the service awards to volunteer catechists. Instead, they were presented their awards at their local parish by their parish priest. Bishop Anthony provided a special video message to all our Broken Bay catechists thanking them for their service.

"Congratulations to those of you who have reached a milestone in your years of service," said Bishop Anthony. "I thank you sincerely for assisting me in my responsibility for the faith education of children and families. This is most important work and I thank you for your ongoing dedication and commitment to the Ministry of Special Religious Education. May God bless you."
