Broken Bay honours and remembers on ANZAC Day

30 April 2021

On ANZAC Day, our parish and school communities in Broken Bay honoured and remembered those who have served. Representatives from many of our schools and parishes laid wreaths at local ANZAC services.

At Chatswood, Parish Priest Fr David Ranson and Deacon Aldrin Valdehueza were joined by students from Mercy Catholic College and St Pius as they attended the Dawn Service in Chatswood.

At Hornsby Cathedral Parish, a moving ANZAC Mass was held, and the Young Adults group (Boundless) from Hornsby Cathedral Parish had a wonderful night together with 100 year old Dennis Davis, a WWII veteran and Rat of Tobruk.

At the Lakes Parish, at each of the weekend Masses commemorating Anzac Day, a parishioner carried a commemorative wreath and either wore family medals or those belonging to themselves.

Bishop Anthony Randazzo celebrated the ANZAC Day Mass, which was also the celebration of Good Shepherd Sunday, at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, Waitara and at Wahroonga Parish.
