The Diocese has produced an information guide to highlight the key policies and pledges from each of the major three parties. This NOT a comprehensive list of each major party’s election pledges and voters are encouraged to view each party’s respective platform in its entirety. Fifteen parties are registered with the NSW Electoral Commission, and apart from the major parties and smaller parties there are a number of independents running in the election. Many have limited policy platforms and it is difficult to compare to each other and the major platforms. Although they have not been included in this guide most have easily accessible websites. The information in the guide has been sourced from the respective party websites, the NSW Electoral Commission and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The guide also contains a link to a website that provides further information on the election and also the names of candidates in each district for the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council. The guide does NOT constitute an endorsement of any major parties, and it does NOT constitute an opposition to the parties mentioned. If you would like to vote in person, but you are unable to get to a voting centre or polling place on election day, you may be able to vote early or pre-poll.
