Children Readers at Mass
Children are encouraged to become involved in reading at our 9am Family Mass in the following ways;
- Every Sunday 9am Mass children from Year 2 to Year 6 lead the Prayers of the Faithful
- Every third Sunday of the month, and for important celebrations such as Easter, Pentecost and Christmas, children from Years 3 to 7 are also invited to read the first reading, psalm, and second reading
Why do it?
If you love to read, this is a great way to share your gift with the community.
If you join, we ask you to agree to;
- Read and reflect on the reading at home with your parents in the week leading to the Mass
- Pray and listen to the presence of God while you are reflecting
- Learn the necessary skills to proclaim the Word of God
- Agree to arrive by 8.45am to prepare on your assigned Sunday Mass
- If you cannot attend, inform the coordinator at least 3 days before the event
