In the Catholic Church, marriage is a sacrament. A sacrament is a sacred sign. The loving communion that exists between husband and wife reveals to us the kind of love which Christ has for us: free, faithful, fruitful and forever. From the perspective of the Catholic understanding of sacrament, the married couple not only 'mirror' or reflect God's love, they embody the presence of Christ in a unique way. They are a tangible sign of the intimate relationship we share with Jesus. We are Christ's beloved.

Weddings
Like all sacraments, the sacrament of Marriage is usually celebrated in one of the couple's home parish.
To book a wedding at Our Lady of Dolours Catholic Parish, please download the following two forms to complete.

If you require one of the Chatswood Parish Clergy to be your Celebrant, please email the Wedding Booking Form to Fr David Ranson, Parish Priest at: david.ranson@bbcatholic.org.au
Fr David will arrange one of the clergy to be your celebrant, and return this booking form to you so that you can then lodge at the parish office.
Once you have both forms completed, please deliver them in person to the Parish office or email to chatswoodoffice@bbcatholic.org.au at least six weeks prior to your requested date.
Your booking will be confirmed once the Wedding Booking and Church Regulation forms along with payment for your booking has been received.
The church will be reserved for six weeks after your initial inquiry. If we do not receive the forms after this time, your reservation will be cancelled.
Marriage Blessings at Mass
We encourage the blessing of couples at key milestones in their lives: e.g. a special anniversary such as 10, 25 or 50 years. This is a beautiful gesture, not only for the couple but for the whole parish who have a very real investment in their love! A blessing and renewal of wedding vows can be arranged at one of the Sunday Masses.
