Known to millions as a singer, songwriter or “Fr Rob from Australia”, many would not know how far removed his world is today from the “little circle of hell” he created as a 16-year-old in Malta. Fr Rob has changed from a troubled teen to a Catholic priest in the Sandhurst Diocese of Victoria.
Struggling under the weight of addiction and depression, Fr Rob was considering ending his life when redemption came following a phone call. Knowing that he needed help, he forged a relationship with Jesus Christ and has never looked back. His story is about recovery, redemption and faith, making Fr Rob Galea one of the most charismatic priests of our time.
The FRG Ministry was formed by Fr Rob as a Catholic movement bringing the love of Jesus and His message of hope to people of all ages across the world. FRG Ministry pioneers new methods of evangelisation through relevant and engaging projects. FRG Ministry also provides educational programs and resources for schools and Catholic parishes which empower people to grow as true disciples of Christ.
Based in the Parish of St Kilian’s Bendigo, Fr Rob serves as a chaplain to the Catholic College Bendigo (High School) and local La Trobe University campus.
Fr Rob Galea has a significant evangelistic and outreach ministry, speaking and singing at schools, conferences and churches around Australia and the world.
