Reflections on St Thomas More, God's First
A Bishop Robert Barron video
In February 2023, Bishop Robert Barron visited London and had an opportunity to visit the cell of St Thomas More in the Tower of London. More died the king’s good servant — “but God’s first”.
St Thomas More (1478—1535), the patron of lawyers, politicians, and difficult marriages, a renowned lawyer and statesman in Tudor England, exemplified moral courage and unwavering faith. Despite immense pressure, he remained loyal to his conscience and refused to compromise his principles. His life teaches us the importance of defending truth and standing firm in our beliefs, even in the face of adversity.
The feast day of St Thomas More is June 22.
St Thomas More pray for us.
