Carmelites offer "a source of strength"
Carmelite Communications has prepared a selection of resources for people praying at home at this time when we cannot celebrate liturgies in the Church.
Celebrating at Home is a Liturgy of the Word centred around the Gospel reading for each Sunday and during Holy Week. It includes a reflection on the Gospel and prayers that can be used personally or with the family. Parts for all to pray are given in bold print and all the other parts can be shared among those present.
Each week, the Carmelites are also providing Lectio Divina – a guided, prayerful way to read and reflect more deeply on the Gospel.
Celebrating at Home and Lectio Divina are available in both PDF and EPUB formats.
Quoting from the book of John, the Carmelites remind visitors that “The light shines in the darkness, a light that darkness could not overpower”.
“We hope that Celebrating at Home will be a source of nourishment and strength for all who use it,” the Carmelites have said.
“Remember, you are not alone – we are praying for you and your loved ones.”
