New Regional Appointment for Bishop Anthony Randazzo
On Friday, 21 April 2023, Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Monsignor Carl Reid from the pastoral care of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross, with effect from 1 July 2023.
Pope Francis appointed Broken Bay Bishop Anthony Randazzo to the additional role of apostolic administrator of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross, with effect from 1 July 2023.
Based in Sydney, the Ordinariate (akin to a diocese) was created by the Vatican on 15 June 2012. It includes 15 communities in Australia, two in Japan, and one in Guam. It is the third Personal Ordinariate to be established after the UK and the US and Canada.
