Letter to Parishioners
Dear Parishioners,
On Sunday, 22nd of March, the Prime Minister announced further measures across Australia in order to restrict the transmission of COVID-19. Included in these measures is the restriction to places of worship. Therefore, it is with sadness that both our Parish Churches, Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour will be closed (even for private prayer) until further notice.
Holy Masses will continue to be celebrated privately every day by myself and Fr Chris and we will pray for our parishioners and their special intentions in these very difficult times.
A link to the Sunday Mass celebrated by our Parish Priests will be available on the Parish Web site starting from this coming Sunday, 29th March the Fifth Sunday of Lent and we will continue to publish the link every week.
Regarding the celebration of sacraments in our Parish:
- Baptisms in our Parish can still be celebrated as well as Marriages keeping the number of attendees limited to immediate family (maximum 5 people).
- Funerals can also still be celebrated in our Parish. The recommendation is that only immediate family attend (maximum 10 people), and even then, the rules of physical distancing will have to be observed.
- Sacrament of Anointing is still available for those parishioners in urgent need.
- If you know of any parishioner or you are a parishioner who needs help (getting groceries or medicines, etc.) please don’t hesitate to contact the Parish Office at any time and we will arrange someone to assist. We have a number of parishioners that are ready to assist where needed and we are grateful to them for offering their help.
Please contact the Parish Office if you have any questions or concerns. The Parish office working hours have changed slightly to provide more continuous support to all our parishioners, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. I also encourage you to visit our Parish Web site www.pymblecatholicparish.org.au for more information, updates and valuable resources.
Once again, we thank our parishioners for your generosity and continued support. We rely on your generous contributions to maintain our mission and it is especially needed at this time.
We ask you to keep praying for this much-needed world and most importantly, know that our parish team is praying for you.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” Romans 15:13
Yours in Christ,
Fr Boguslaw
