7NEWS will broadcast St Mary’s Cathedral Easter services
Although the Cathedral is closed, 7NEWS will broadcast nationally St Mary’s Cathedral Easter services across Channel 7, Prime 7 and online at 7plus.
The broadcast will include The Lord’s Passion on Good Friday from 3pm and Easter Sunday Mass, from 10:30am.
Easter is the most sacred time of the year on the liturgical calendar. With public gatherings and church services closed in response to the coronavirus, this 7NEWS broadcast will help the Church bring these important services to homes across the country.
These broadcasts mean people of all ages no matter where they live or are currently isolating, will be able to participate in the Mass.
All Australians are experiencing hardship at this time as we seek to limit the spread of the coronavirus and many people are being asked to make sacrifices such as our health professionals working long hours and risking their own health.
A sacrifice for people of faith is not being unable to gather physically to celebrate the sacraments or even to spend time praying in a church. By televising these services, we can come together spiritually to maintain our life of prayer and worship and strengthen our communion with one another.
