Video: Deep Misunderstanding About the Bible
The video is an extract from Fr Barron's delivery of the Joseph Cardinal Bernardin Guestship lecture at Elmhurst College in Elmhurst Illinois. The Lecture brings prominent Catholic theologians to Elmhurst to discuss faith-related issues. The series honours the late Cardinal Bernardin of the Chicago archdiocese, who died in 1996 10 days before he was scheduled to speak at Elmhurst.
Joseph Bernardin (2 April 1928 - 14 November 1996) was an American Catholic Cardinal. He served as Archbishop of Cincinnati from 1972 until 1982, and as Archbishop of Chicago from 1982 until his death in 1996. He was elevated to the cardinalate in 1983 by Pope John Paul II.
Fr Barron was then identified as an acclaimed author, speaker and theologian, and a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the founder of the global ministry Word on Fire. He is the creator and host of the 10-part TV series Catholicism, and served as the Francis Cardinal George Professor of Faith and Culture at Saint Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein Illinois.
