Aid to the Church in Need
24-25 August 2019
Founded in 1947 as a Catholic aid organisation for war refugees and recognised as a papal foundation since 2011, Aid to the Church in Need is dedicated to the service of Christians around the world through information, prayer and action, wherever they are persecuted or oppressed or suffering material need. Every year, Aid to the Church in Need supports an average of 5,000 projects in close to 150 countries, using private donations. The foundation receives no public funding.
Currently, over 200 million Christians worldwide cannot freely exercise their faith. Christians are persecuted, discriminated against or oppressed in more than 40 countries.
The primary work of Aid to the Church in Need is providing spiritual and pastoral support to keep the Catholic faith alive. Aid to the Church in Need supports projects at the request of bishops and religious superiors who have nowhere else to turn.
We invite you to stay informed on this work by receiving news from the suffering Church. Visit the Web site below and follow the "subscribe" link. If you prefer to receive information by post, please call 1800 10 1201 during business hours to subscribe.
