Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Vinnies Sleepout
4:30pm for 5pm
Friday, 10 September, 2021
At home and via Zoom
We call on our local school community to come together and give up one night in a warm, comfortable bed to help raise funds for, and awareness of, homelessness in our very own backyards.
Please join our Vinnies School Sleepout or give now to help us reach our fundraising goal. In doing so, we will assist Vinnies to provide support for those in our community who need it the most.
There are more than 116,000 Australians experiencing homelessness. Alarmingly, approximately 60,000 of these are under the age of 35, and more than 17,000 children under the age of 12 don’t have a stable place to call home. The face of homelessness in Australia has changed.
Together with Vinnies, we have the power to shape awareness and inspire action within the school and the wider community, at the same time helping to make a real difference in the lives of the 1 in 200 people experiencing homelessness every night in Australia.
A Vinnies School Sleepout provides a unique insight into the complex issues that people experiencing homelessness face by “sleeping rough” for one night.
What to Bring: Sleeping bag, pillow, water bottle, snack pack, backpack, paper and pencils and a book.
What to Do: Find a safe space, wear warm clothing and remember a blanket, especially if you feel the cold.
If you can, please make a monetary donation using our fundraising page at the Vinnies NSW Fundraising Web site using the link below.
