Let’s face it, with everyone's busy lives, we don’t often get the chance to pray with our priests outside of Mass. However, this can be a very special experience. Our priests are our spiritual leaders, and praying with them can unlock new insights and practices.
Why Pray the Rosary with Our Clergy?
Praying the Rosary with our clergy is perfect for Rosary beginners as you can be led, and it's also ideal for experts as you get the chance to follow and deepen your devotion. It provides a unique opportunity to experience communal prayer in a deeper, more meaningful way. Our priests, with their spiritual guidance and experience, can help us unlock new layers of understanding and devotion within this beautiful prayer. It's a chance to learn from them and share in their profound connection to our faith.
In conjunction with the Month of the Rosary, Hornsby Cathedral Parish has organised special events that promote prayer, fellowship, and community spirit. Over the past two years, our parish has focused on these aspects, strengthening our bonds. So, this October, the month of the Rosary, we have two clergy-led Rosary events.
1. Sunday, October 6th, 9 AM, Before Mass
- To help prepare for our feast, Fr. Brendan will lead us through the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. This session is a wonderful way to start your Sunday, immersing yourself in prayer and reflection before Mass.
2. Saturday, October 19th, Immediately After the 9:30 AM Mass
- If you missed the opportunity to pray with Fr. Brendan or enjoyed it so much that you’d like to do it again, join either Fr. Hien or Fr. Vitalis. This session offers another chance to connect with our clergy through the powerful practice of the Rosary.
The Month of the Rosary is a special time for the faithful to come together in communal prayer and reflection, especially during the Year of Prayer as designated by His Holiness, the Pope. Whether you have never prayed the Rosary before or do so daily, October is the perfect time to unite in prayer with the parish.
Encouraging Family and Community Prayer
We also encourage families to pray the Rosary at home, making it a regular part of their spiritual routine. This devotion not only strengthens personal faith but also unites communities in a shared expression of reverence and petition. It serves as a powerful reminder of the Blessed Virgin's presence and guidance in the life of the Church.
Don't miss this opportunity to deepen your faith and strengthen our community. Participate in the clergy-led Rosary sessions, the Men’s or Women’s Rosary groups, and bring your family together for prayer at home. For resources, Rosary prayer guides, or Rosary beads, contact the Cathedral office at (02) 8379 1700, or email cathedral@bbcatholic.org.au.
Join us this October as we come together in prayer, reflection, and community.
