Safeguarding in our Parish means....
Our parish arms the dignity and worth of all children, young people and vulnerable adults in our care. We have a strong commitment to the wellbeing, belonging and security of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Domestic Violence is sadly a reality in many people’s lives, and takes many forms including verbal, physical, psychological and sexual. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 1 in 6 Australian women, and 1 in 16 Australian men have been subjected, since age 15, to violence by a current or previous partner (ABS 2017b).
Safeguarding in our parish means creating awareness in the community to protect children and vulnerable adults. Our parish is a place in which we endeavor to create a culture and environment where proactive actions are taken to make the community a safe place. Principles and practices are applied to reduce risk and promote transparency.
If you have a concern for the safety and wellbeing of a child or young person or vulnerable adult, tell someone who can help.
