Pastoral Care to the sick and frail is the keystone to all our activities in the Parish of Pittwater, which fulfills our mission statement:-
Inspired by our love of Christ,
As a community of hope we reach out
And spiritually nourish all.
From the very beginning, the church has taken special care to minister to the spiritual needs of the sick this continues today, and is an important part of our ministry in the Catholic Parish of Pittwater.
HOLY MASS WITH ANOINTING OF THE SICK
On the First Friday of each month, we have an anointing Mass for the sick.
At Maria Regina Church, Avalon the Mass is at 8am
At Sacred Heart Church, Mona Vale, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction is at 9.30am and the Mass is at 10.30am.
VISITATION AND HOLY COMMUNION
We have a team approach in the ministering of Pastoral care led by the priests and supported by the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. The priests are on call to all the local nursing homes and hospitals to celebrate Viaticum and anointing of the sick to the dying.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion visit nursing homes and the housebound bringing Holy Communion to those no longer able to attend Mass.
