Craft
This group was formed in 2005 adopting the motto “Learning, Sharing and Enriching”. Membership is offered to parishioners and ladies of the broader public community.
This friendly, happy and productive group meet each Friday of the school term from 10 am until 12.30pm at St Patrick’s Primary School [Victoria Street] Music Room. Currently, there are 30 members who effectively interact by teaching, learning or sharing new skills. These crafts include crocheting, knitting, patchwork and appliqué, embroidery, card making and many more.
You are welcome to come along and learn, or simply complete your unfinished projects, or share with the group a skill you may have.
The group answers a social responsibility as well by supporting the “Wrap with Love” programme which supplies knitted blankets to the needy, by raising $500 for the St Vinnie’s Winter Appeal, and $1000 for the Cancer Council from its Biggest Morning Tea held here in 2015.
The new friendships formed, the support which is evident within the group and the knowledge that we are assisting the needy can enrich one’s life.
Family Groups
Family Groups are groups which have formed within the parish of individuals or families who gather socially for events.
We have a number of groups operating at the moment, and there’s always room to create another. If you feel you would like to join or start your own group, please contact the Parish Office.
Youth Groups
St Patrick’s is proud to host three youth groups in this parish, catering to a broad age range, as follows:
Pint-Sized Paddies [Years 5 - 8]
Pint-Sized Paddies has formed a number of years ago and has been successfully engaging twice a month on a Friday evening since then. This group is open to Catholic children at all schools in our parish.
Under the leadership of Melissa Monaghan, the group meets at St Patrick’s Hall, Victoria Street campus of St Patrick’s Primary School from between 7 and 9 pm on dates which are advertised in the Bulletin, but generally the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month.
On The Way Youth Bible Study (Year 9 and over)
‘On the Way’ was formed in 2012 and meets at the Jordan Room on the 1st and 3rd Sunday mornings of the month at approximately 10 am following the 9 am Mass.
The focus of this group, led by Katrina Pratt, is formation and faith education.
Aftermath (18 - 35)
This group is primarily social and meets for dinner at a chosen venue following the 6 pm Mass on the 4th Sunday of the month, and families with children are welcome.
