Strong recommendation to wear masks
As many would already be aware, on Sunday 2 August the Premier, along with the Chief medical officer announced the strong recommendation to wear masks in the following situations:
· in indoor settings where physical distancing is hard to maintain, such as on public transport or in supermarkets
· in indoor settings with a higher risk of transmission, such as for the staff of hospitality and customer-facing venues i.e. cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs
· during attendance at places of worship.
In line with this, we strongly recommend to our parishioners, the use of face masks when they attend church for any Mass, religious service or prayer.
Please note that at this stage, it is not a mandate and does not replace any other COVID-19 safe practices, such as social distancing.
Encouraging the use of face masks will be another step in helping to keep our communities safe during this time.
