Plenary Council 2020 offers an opportunity to discover and discern, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the future course for the Church in Australia.
It is time to ask “What do you think God is asking of us in Australia?” The Plenary Council has the potential to open up new horizons within ourselves and our Catholic communities, and to discern ways to live our faith anew in contemporary Australian society. It will decide and legislate on matters that will shape and impact upon generations of Australian Catholics to come.
Preparations for the national process are underway, with the launch of the Plenary Council at Pentecost, Sunday 20 May.
Together, we are on a journey of listening to God by listening to one another. All Australians are invited to engage in an open and inclusive process of listening, dialogue and discernment about the future of the Catholic Church in Australia.
