Sunday of the Word of God - 6 February 2022
In Australia, the Sunday of the Word of God is celebrated on the 1st Sunday in Februaryeach year, which this year falls on Sunday 6 February 2022.
Pope Francis asks us to mark this Sunday with a certain solemnity, and to ‘celebrate, study, and disseminate’ the word of God,“ for we urgently need to grow in our knowledge and love of the Scriptures and of the risen Lord, who continues to speak his word and to break bread in the community of believers.” (Aperuit Illis, 8)
A Parish Guide is available for parishes of the Diocese of Broken Bay to assist in celebrating this day, as well as looking ahead at ongoing biblical study and reflection.
